Owner Information

Ending Ownership

There are many reasons why a racing partnership may end. Here are some of the more common reasons why a partnership may end or change its current form:

  • Your horse has reached the end of his or her career and is no longer competitive
  • Your horse sustains a career ending injury
  • It is financially beneficial or the right time for your horse to head to stud (predominately fillies or mares)
  • A race partner or partners do not wish to continue racing any further
  • A race partner or partners are behind in bills or have financial difficulties paying for the up-keep of their share
  • A lucrative offer is made on your horse which is accepted by the partnership

In all these cases Darby Racing P/L will liaise between owners to provide the best outcome for the partnership.

In the case of a partner or partners wishing to exit a syndicate, it is important to note that the rest of the group must have first right of purchase before the share or shares are offered to the public. Again Darby Racing P/L will liaise between parties to help provide the best outcome for the partnership.

The dream for all owners is to have raced a champion racehorse that retires to the green pastures at one of our leading studs or farms. This could be you !
